| The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for investigating reports of criminal offenses taken by the patrol division; interviewing and taking statements from witnesses, victims, and suspects; processing crime scenes; processing and analyzing collected evidence; obtaining and submitting evidence to state laboratories; investigating anonymous tips; filing cases with the District and/or County Attorney; obtaining and executing arrest and search warrants; presenting felony cases to grand jury; and testifying in District and/or County Court. | |||

| Normal working hours are Monday through Friday, however, each detective is subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a daily rotating schedule. | |||
